Home Gym Workout Routines

Creating successful routines for your self can be both easy as well as fun. There is no mystery to the process, and in fact most people over complicate the process; bringing it to a level that introduces unnecessary steps that only act as a barrier to your home gym workout routines rather then help you in your quest for fitness. There are however a few steps that people should take to ensure they stick to these.

The most important thing a person can do to ensure the success of their home gym workout routines is to set a scheduled time that they observe each day that you plan on working out. Adding this element of routine makes it more difficult to "cheat" and skip a workout. Additionally having a scheduled time means that you will be able to avoid scheduling interruptions. Lets face it every on is busy now a days, and it is not uncommon for our schedules to become full without even realizing it; but by having a set scheduled time for your home gym workout routines you will avoid this common pitfall.

Scheduling your home gym workout routines should not only be limited to times, but also dates. How common is it for people to put off a workout till the next day thinking that they only need to do 4 workouts a week, and there are still plenty of days left? Only to then realize that things keep coming up preventing them from getting in all of their weekly home gym workout routines. Preventing this is so incredibly easy that people often over look it. All that is required is for people to "pencil in" their daily home gym workout routines in to whatever schedule keeper they use.

Having a set of workout cloths also helps to get you in the proper exercising mood. When you dress for success (and in this case success is completing your workout) success will find you. More simply, by dressing to work out you put your self in the mindset to successfully complete your home gym workout routines. These cloths do not need to be anything special, just comfortable, and only used for your workout.

Music is another popular addition to any home gym workout routines. Music is generally seen as a motivator, and successfully used by many people to help push themselves farther and faster; reaching those exercise heights, and crossing those troublesome plateaus. Most people choose upbeat tunes, something with a driving beat and a fast rhythm to keep them motivated, however it is really a personal choice and if classical music feels like the proper accompaniment to your home gym workout routines then by all means enjoy your Mozart.

Watching television or reading is generally not recommended as a diversion while doing your home gym workout routines. These are seen as more distracting then music, and rather then pushing you harder in your workout, television and books tend to pull you out of it, causing your heart rate to lower and you to loose focus. Of course if you have to have the television on to be successful in your home gym workout routines then by all means watch it. Having an only partially successful workout is still better then no workout at all, and since you are working out for your own wellbeing then you may as well enjoy your home gym workout routines. Do what it takes, and have fun! This is your special time and you should embrace your home gym workout routines and really make them your own.

Home Workouts - Bodyweight Cardio Advantages Over Cardio Machines

Home workouts such as bodyweight cardio and cardio machines are very popular methods of working out at home. Home workouts are designed to provide you with more spare time and flexibility in your life. Bodyweight workouts are workouts that you can perform without weights while using your body as resistance. Bodyweight cardio is putting these bodyweight exercises together in circuits to provide you with a cardiovascular workout as well a strength workout. Cardio machines such as elliptical machines, treadmills and exercise bikes are popular forms of cardio that people usually resort to when they are overweight and want to burn fat in the comfort of their own home. Advantages that Bodyweight Cardio has over Cardio Machines:

* No equipment required - No need to take up half of the living room just so you can workout each day.

* Very little cost or none at all - Bodyweight cardio is free unless you purchase a workout dvd or book. You may invest in some push-up bars, pull-up bar, bands or exercise ball to get more out of your workout but they are not necessary. A cardio machine will cost at least a couple hundred up to a couple thousand dollars. You could be enjoying a nice vacation with that money or put it to good use.

* Workout can be done anywhere - Do your workouts outside, inside, on your vacation. It is up to you. You can not drag your cardio machine outside or take it on vacation with you.

* Workouts are shorter - Your doing more work in less time. Spend more time doing things you love.

* More focus on the exercises - You will get better results if you are focused on your workout. Watching TV while you are on a cardio machine does not give you any focus on the task at hand. You need to challenge yourself to get a true cardiovascular workout.

* Better Results - You'll be burning fat all day long after your bodyweight workout. Your whole body is getting a workout. Your body gets a better hormonal response when you are using more muscles therefore burning more fat and for a longer time. Treadmills and bikes will only give your legs a workout.

* Excitement - This is definitely more exciting then a boring cardio machine. It is hard to have fun running on a treadmill or riding a bike inside.

* Workout Versatility - Bodyweight Cardio workouts can be modified or you can change the whole workout when it starts to get stale. I change up my workout every 4 weeks. It keeps it from getting boring and your muscles will react better when you change your workout. You can do some different exercises or rotate the order of them. Cardio machines are set in stone as far as what you can do with them. You are always doing the same movements and using the same muscles.

* Workout with a partner - This is a great way to challenge yourself. You can motivate each other. This is hard to do with cardio machines unless you have 2 of them which would take up a lot of space.

2. Bodyweight Squats (25 reps)

3. Push-ups (25 reps)

4. Running on the spot - knees high in the air (30 seconds)

This is just my advice on home workouts with bodyweight cardio. Remember to take it easy and do not over do it if you have not worked out in a while. Please remember to consult your Doctor before starting a new exercise routine.

Importance of Water in Workouts

What Is Hydration?

Hydration. What is the technical term and why do we need it? Hydration is such an important factor in exercises, especially when it comes to powerful abdominal exercises that wear you out extremely fast.

Now when I say hydration, I mean those liquids that you actually benefit from, and those that actually help you gain more energy during your workouts.

So let's see just how vital water is to your overall daily workouts and even just life. Research has proven that water is one of the most essential and important ingredients to a healthy life.

How Vital Water Is To Your Life:

Water is what keeps you hydrated and gives your blood that extra oxygen to keep pushing during your workouts. So let's just say without water, your workout is basically pointless because you'll be dead with no energy at all.

Your workouts REQUIRE high amounts of water in your system, because water is what fuels your body to keep going hard during your workouts.

Now, I am not just saying water is extremely good because I want to live a "healthy" life and that's what all the health and nutrition specialists told me. No, water actually has a large number of important and vital functions in your body.

Let's see what this highly overlooked source of nutrition can do for you.

Protects Your Vital Tissues And Joints:

First of all, water is what keeps your joints, tissues, and bones highly saturated and lubricated so they stay like that during your workouts. This is extremely important because your joints and tissues are obviously what you mostly use during your workouts.

When you have no water in your system prior to or during your workout, a lot can go wrong with your tissues and joints, and this can even cause you to feel tender in a certain area and even cause sharp pains due to lack of water.

I've personally experience this countless times, and I want to be sure I save you the ache and pain from lack of water.

Get That Nutrition To Your Body:

Another main point to make with water, is that it is the major transporter or nutrients. Now why in the world would we care about this during workouts?

Well if your body is able to transport nutrients, that means everything you ate before your workout, is now being transported throughout your body in a positive manner.

So, if you had a protein shake and your aiming to chisel your six pack abs by developing that muscle, then the water you drink is able to transport those nutrients to the targeted muscle group your working out.

This transport of nutrients then develops the muscle around your six pack abdominals area, so that you get even faster chiseled abs.

Regulate Your Body Temperature:

The last thing water does for you is that it continuously regulates your body temperature through the sweat that your body produces so that your body doesn't overheat and cause over-exhaustion.

It is very important to keep your body temperature regulated throughout your workouts because when you start to become fatigued due to over-exhaustion, you begin to become sluggish during your workouts, which highly minimizes your results.

Another thing is that you can even pass out due to over-exhaustion, if your body temperature isn't properly regulated with the assistance of water.

The main point I'm trying to make is to stay hydrated. Stay hydrated and drink water before, during, and after your workout, so you have as much energy as possible throughout your workout.

Water Is Way More Important Than You Think:

Water is more important than most people realize, and I want to make sure that you don't make these mistakes by staying hydrated with the proper amount of water in your system.

When I emphasize the importance of proper hydration, there is so much more behind this simple workout tip.

You literally almost can't workout without water, because water is the secret ingredient behind your workout performance and results.

Proper amount of water intake is mainly essential to comfort, performance and safety. When you have a constant flow of water into your system, you can workout longer, maximize your results, and not feel like you're pushing yourself to the limit.

Don't Feel Sluggish:

Water provides your body with the right amount of nutrition and hydration to keep you from passing out as well. When you're properly hydrated with water, your body is more energized, which keeps you from feeling over-worked.

I remember when I used to not drink water during my workouts. I would feel so sluggish, have no energy, and just want to quit half way through the workout.

However, once I started drinking water constantly throughout my workout, I felt so extremely energized, and was able to push myself to workout harder and longer.

Main Idea To Stay Hydrated With Water:

The main concept behind hydrating with water, is that the longer and more intensely you work out, the more important it is to drink water throughout the workout.

Stay hydrated with lots of water throughout your work out and drink as much as your body needs at a constant time frame.
